Hey Big Sandy Community: The Ladycats and Wildcats, at both Junior High and High School levels, have many events this week, and we would love to see all of you come out and support them! Monday, September 30th, at 4:30 pm, the Junior High Volleyball team will play vs Hawkins, AWAY! Tuesday, October 1st, at 4:30 pm, the High School Volleyball team will play vs East Texas Christian Academy, AWAY! Thursday, October 3rd, at 5:00 pm, the Junior High and Junior Varsity Football teams will play vs Rivercrest, at HOME! Friday, October 4th, at 4:30 pm, the High School Volleyball team will play vs Overton, at HOME! Also, on Friday, October 4th, at 7:30 pm, the Varsity Football team, the High School Wildcats Cheerleaders, and that Wildcat Band will be in action vs Rivercrest, at HOME! Go Wildcats!

Hey Big Sandy: We have lots of events this week! Today, Monday, September 16th, the Junior High Volleyball Teams will be traveling to Linden-Kildare! Match play will start at 4:30 pm. Tomorrow, Tuesday, September 17th, High School Volleyball will travel to Linden-KIldare! Match play will start at 4:30 pm. Thursday, September 19th, the Junior High and Junior Varsity Football Teams will travel to Mineola! Junior High will play first, followed by the Junior Varsity team! Games will start at 5:00 pm. The current schedule on our website reflects a wrong entry and shows both Junior High and Junior Varsity Football playing at home, but this is not the case. Both teams play in Mineola on Thursday, September 19th. On Friday, September 20th, the High School Volleyball teams will be in action vs Union Grove at Home! Match play starts at 4:30 pm. Also, on Friday, September 20th, the Varsity Football team will play vs Mineola at Home, starting at 7:30 pm! Go Ladycats and Wildcats!

Hey Big Sandy: Cross Country ran a meet today in Miller Grove, TX! We will post results as soon as we receive them! Also, tonight, the Junior High Football Teams and the Junior Varsity Football Team play at Home vs Timpson! The Junior High Football games start at 5:00 pm! There will be 2 Junior High Football games, to be followed by the Junior Varsity Football game! Go Wildcats!

Hey Big Sandy Community and Friends: We had our first Fire Drill and Tornado Drill this morning. The drills were performed perfectly! We have great kids! I wanted you to know, in case you heard that all of our kids were outside the building this morning, at around 9:30 am. Go Wildcats!

Hey Everybody: The JUNIOR HIGH LADYCATS VOLLEYBALL TEAM will play Leveretts Chapel tonight, Monday, September 9th, 2019, starting at 4:30 pm, at home! Go Ladycats!

Tonight, Friday, September 6th, from 6:00 pm to 7:00 pm, the Big Sandy FFA will host a tailgate party at the Ag Shop! Football kicks off at 7:30 pm! Go Wildcats FFA!

Hey Big Sandy: Lots going on this week with Ladycat and Wildcat Sports! Today, the HS Volleyball Team plays in Jacksonville at 4:30 pm. Thursday, September 5th, JH Volleyball plays Hawkins at Home at 4:30 pm. Also, the same night, JV Football plays Alba in Alba at 6:00 pm. Friday, September 6th, HS Volleyball plays Longview Christian at Home at 4:30 pm. We also host Alba in Varsity Football at 7:30 pm. On Saturday, September 7th, HS Volleyball has a tournament in Union Grove! Let's Go Ladycats and Wildcats!

Big Sandy Elementary would like to invite all families to "Meet the Teacher" this Thursday, August 22nd from 4:00-6:00. Students are welcome to bring their supplies at that time.

The Love Big Sandy Project is holding their annual Back-to-School Bash this coming weekend, Saturday, August 17th, 2019, in the Elementary Gym for all grade levels. Elementary will be able to attend from 10:00 am to Noon. Secondary will be able to attend from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm. The event will include free haircuts, school supplies, eye screenings, and dental hygiene items! There will also be balloon art, face painting, hot dogs, chips, drinks, and more! This event is also being sponsored by the Big Sandy Lions Club, Solid Rock Refuge, Tiffany's Insurance Agency, TWS Drilling, and the Big Sandy ISD. Thank you to each one of these sponsors for this event for our kids and families. Go Wildcats!

All returning elementary students may pick up their new registration forms at the elementary office any day Monday through Friday 8:00-3:00.All campuses are required to have new “proof of residency” forms on file this year along with the documentation.Please remember to stop by the office and provide us with a copy of a current utility bill with your physical address to update your child’s file.

Substitute Training will be held this coming Friday, August 16th, at 1:00 pm, in the Cafeteria. You must attend the training to be able to serve as a Substitute in the Big Sandy ISD. We are excited to welcome all of you to our Substitute Training! Go Wildcats!

Attention: Schedule pickups for 7th-12th graders have been moved to Tuesday, August 20th, all day. Freshman Orientation is Tuesday, August 13th, at 6:30 pm, in the cafeteria. Parents who are planning to send their child to Pre-Kindergarten in 2019-2020 are urged to pre-register at the Elementary office on Wednesday, August 7th, from 9-11:00 am. Please bring an official birth certificate, a shot record, social security card, proof of residency and proof of income.

Caution: The Big Sandy ISD is having roof construction completed by Curtis McKinley in the next coming weeks, above the Auditorium and the Student Center. Activity inside the buildings will not be affected. The entrance to the Band Hall on Wildcat Drive will be closed for the duration of the roof construction. Materials and equipment will begin to be dropped off and staged on Wildcat Drive, adjacent to the Band Hall Area, on Friday, July 26th. During Band rehearsal and practices, we ask that no vehicles be parked along Wildcat Drive, nor any student(s) be picked up or dropped off on Wildcat Drive. This construction will take approximately 2-3 weeks to complete. All Band students and parents will need to use the Elementary Parking Lot to park, pick-up, and drop-off. Students will enter the gated area between the Elementary Gym and Elementary Building to access the Band Hall. Go Wildcats!

Attention Big Sandy Community: The Football field and track will be closed Saturday, July 27, until Monday morning, July 29, for ant treatment. The gates will be locked with a notice of treatment attached to each gate. Go Wildcats!

Hear ye, Hear ye: Pre-Kindergarten roundup is scheduled for Wednesday, August 7th, from 9:00 am - 11:00 am. Kindergarten registration for families that missed the Kindergarten Round-up in Spring 2019 or are new to the area begins August 5th. 7th Grade – 8th Grade and 10th Grade -12th Grade Schedule Pick-up is on August 12th. Freshmen (9th Grade) Orientation is on August 13th at 6:30 pm in the Cafeteria. 6th Grade Reception is on August 14th at 6:30 pm in the Cafeteria. Parents are welcome to register students new to the Big Sandy ISD on any Monday through Thursday, from 8:00 am - 11:00 am and 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm. Go Wildcats!
