Hey Big Sandy: Lots of Basketball happening this week! Monday, December 9, 2019: JH Boys Basketball Teams will be in Beckville. B Team plays at 5pm, followed by 7th Grade A Team, followed by 8th Grade. JH Girls Basketball Teams will be at Home vs Beckville, starting at 5:00 pm, with the B Team, followed by 7th Grade, then 8th Grade. Tuesday, December 10, 2019: HS Girls Basketball vs Gary at Home, starting at 5:00 pm, with the JV, followed by Varsity. HS Boys Basketball vs Gary, Away, starting at 5:00 pm, with the JV, followed by Varsity. Thursday, December 12- Saturday, December 14, 2019: Varsity Girls and Boys will be in action in the Gary Basketball Tournament, in Gary. Times are to be announced, depending on win/loss and tournament bracket. This tournament is for the Varsity Teams only, for both boys and girls. Go Wildcats!

Attention Big Sandy: Our Elementary and Junior High students have done an outstanding job with District UIL Academic Competition this week! Thank you for allowing your child(ren) to compete in these academic events! Thank you to all of the coaches for their time and effort into helping to get our kids prepared! The Elementary came in as District Runner-up! What an amazing run! We will post a list of individual accomplishments and places as soon as it is finalized! The Junior High is currently in Third Place in the district, awaiting the outcome of the Junior High One-Act Play Results! We are very close with Hawkins ISD Junior High, which is currently in Second Place! We are 23.5 points behind them! The One-Act Play event could change all of that! Again, we are so proud of all of our Elementary and Junior High students for their courage and accomplishments! Go Wildcats!

Hey Big Sandy and Wildcat Community: Welcome back from Thanksgiving Break! We hope that everyone had a restful time and enjoyed family and friends! Tonight, we have our Wildcat Band Concert, starting at 6:30 pm. All bands will perform, starting with the Beginner Band, then Intermediate, and followed by the High School Wildcat Band! Good Friday morning to everyone! Today, Friday, November 22, 2019, we have an Early Release for everyone, including staff, at 12:18 pm! Also, it's Turkey Trot Day, which starts at 9:00 am, on Wildcat Drive in front of the Elementary and ends up in Wildcat Stadium! We hope that everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving Break! Time with family and friends is priceless, so take the time you can to spend with those you love and are thankful for! We are out ALL NEXT WEEK for Thanksgiving Break! We will return to school on Monday, December 2, 2019! The day we return, Monday, December 2, 2019, we will have a Christmas Band Concert at 6:30 pm, in the Auditorium! The Wildcat Band has been working so hard for this concert and they are ready to put on a show for everyone that attends! The entire community is invited! And the Big Sandy Wildcats rolled over Centerville 39-32 last Friday night in Palestine Westwood! And of course, we always win halftime! The Big Sandy Wildcat Band did an amazing job and our Cheerleaders never stopped cheering! What an exciting game for the football team and coaches, the band and directors, the cheerleaders and sponsor, the fans, and such a great win for all of Big Sandy, TX! We showed up and showed out! Now, on to Round 2 of the State Championship Football Playoffs! We play Groveton this coming Friday night, November 22nd, at 7:00 pm, at Rusk ISD Stadium! The start time is different than normal. We will start at 7:00 pm, not 7:30 pm! Go Wildcats!

Hey Big Sandy Community: Well, the cold front has come in! In the morning, at the bus stop, the weather forecast shows the temperatures to be in the 20s. The precipitation is supposed to stop before any freezing temperatures hit, and with the amount of wind we will experience this evening, the precipitation should all be dried out.
