Big Sandy ISD is closely monitoring the weather forecast for Friday evening as rain is currently predicted in our area. At this time, we are still planning to hold Graduation ceremonies at the football field as scheduled.
However, in the event that weather conditions make an outdoor ceremony unsafe or impractical, Graduation will be moved to the auditorium. If the ceremony is relocated indoors, each graduate will receive 14 tickets for guests.
Our hope is to celebrate this special occasion together under the lights at the football field, but we also want our families and graduates to know that we have a backup plan in place since weather is beyond our control.
We will continue to communicate any updates as needed. Thank you for your support, flexibility, and understanding as we celebrate the Class of 2026!

For the remainder of the school year, buses 108 and 103 will be combined. Ms. Tina will be taking both routes for pick up and drop off.
Monday night, at the Regularly Scheduled Board Meeting, Mary Lingle and Preston Dozier were officially sworn in as members of the Big Sandy ISD Board of Trustees.
Mrs. Lingle has faithfully served the district and our students since 1996. Mr. Dozier will be beginning his first term as a board member.
Following the swearing-in, the Board elected the following officers:
• Mary Lingle, President
• Kathryn Vine, Vice President
• George Strub, Secretary
Big Sandy ISD would also like to extend a sincere thank you to Jamey Childress for his dedicated service to the district. We appreciate his years of commitment and leadership in supporting the students, staff, and community of Big Sandy ISD.

We are proud to celebrate Mr. Travis Willoughby, who was recently named the Big Sandy Chamber of Commerce Educator of the Year! A graduate of Big Sandy ISD and the University of Texas at Austin, Coach Willoughby has spent the past eight years making a lasting impact on students both in the classroom and on the field.
His passion for education, commitment to student success, and ability to inspire and motivate make him a true difference-maker every day.

At the March Board meeting, Seth Jewell submitted his resignation from the Board of Trustees. The Board subsequently appointed former board member Garland Harroff to fill the remainder of the unexpired term. Mr. Harroff was officially sworn into office on March 20, 2026.
