Attention Big Sandy:
Our Elementary and Junior High students have done an outstanding job with District UIL Academic Competition this week! Thank you for allowing your child(ren) to compete in these academic events! Thank you to all of the coaches for their time and effort into helping to get our kids prepared!
The Elementary came in as District Runner-up! What an amazing run! We will post a list of individual accomplishments and places as soon as it is finalized!
The Junior High is currently in Third Place in the district, awaiting the outcome of the Junior High One-Act Play Results! We are very close with Hawkins ISD Junior High, which is currently in Second Place! We are 23.5 points behind them! The One-Act Play event could change all of that!
Again, we are so proud of all of our Elementary and Junior High students for their courage and accomplishments!

Hey Big Sandy Community:
Well, the cold front has come in!
In the morning, at the bus stop, the weather forecast shows the temperatures to be in the 20s. The precipitation is supposed to stop before any freezing temperatures hit, and with the amount of wind we will experience this evening, the precipitation should all be dried out. We will keep you updated if anything changes.
Bundle them babies up before they head out to the bus stop in the morning!
Go Wildcats!

Wow! What a week we had last week! Yamboree is always a 'yamming' good time, and our kids came out to shine in all that they did! We are so proud of all of our organizations that took part in the Yamboree Contests, not to mention the Cross Country Teams on Monday, the UIL Marching Contest last Tuesday, the Volleyball games, and the several Football games!
It all started on Monday, with the Cross Country Teams competing in the District Cross Country Meet in Union Grove! The Varsity Boys advanced to the Regional Cross Country Meet, to be held in the coming weeks! They finished as District Runner-up!

At the Yamboree Fairgrounds, the Wildcats FFA and Ag Mechanics students cleaned up and I mean cleaned up, once again! We won the Overall Reserve Champion Sweepstakes FFA/Ag Mechanics Program!
James Briscoe won Grand Champion Swine and Jaxson Croley won Grand Champion Goat! We also won Grand Champion and Reserve Grand Champion Non-Sale Shop Project, as well as Reserve Grand Champion Sale Project! Many of our kids won Blue Ribbons, as we had almost 50 shop projects entered into the Ag Mechanics show!
We had 11 FFA students make the sale on Saturday, with their Animal Projects, in all 5 Animal Shows! We had students make the sale in Broiler Chickens, Market Rabbits, Goats, Swine, and Steers!
