Hey Big Sandy Elementary Parents/Guardians: We need your help. Just a friendly reminder- For the safety and security of all of our students, Big Sandy Elementary encourages parents to remain in their vehicles and pick up their child(ren) at the designated stop during afternoon "pick-up" time. Attention: We will be holding a Substitute Training Class on January 30, 2020, starting at 9:00 am, in the High School Gym Foyer. If you would like to substitute teach for the Big Sandy ISD, please consider attending this training session! Early School Release Information, Friday, January 10, 2020: Due to the enhanced forecast of tornadoes and extreme weather, which has already begun in Oklahoma, we are releasing at 2:00 pm today. Car-Rider pick-up at the Elementary will begin at 1:40 pm. There are no after-school activities today. Go Wildcats!

Basketball Update #2: We have decided to move tonight's games vs. Carlisle to tomorrow evening, Saturday, January 11th, at HOME, starting at 5:00 pm with Varsity Girls, followed by Varsity Boys. Go Wildcats!

Basketball Update, Friday, January 10, 2020: This evening, we play Carlisle in Big Sandy. We will only play Varsity games this evening. Varsity Girls will begin at 5:00 pm, immediately followed by Varsity Boys. Go Wildcats!

Severe Weather Update: We are monitoring the weather very closely here at school, all throughout this day. Decisions will be made about tonight's basketball games later this morning, and as soon as we know the final plan, we will let you know. We play Carlisle here tonight, and they will let us know their travel decision at approximately 9:00 am this morning. We will keep you posted about any changes in the school day, if they arise. At this point, all models are still showing all extreme weather coming in late evening, well after school is out, around 10 - 11 pm. Again, we will continue to monitor the situation and let you know of any changes arise with the school day or basketball games. Hey Big Sandy: Lots of Basketball happening this week! Monday, December 9, 2019: JH Boys Basketball Teams will be in Beckville. B Team plays at 5pm, followed by 7th Grade A Team, followed by 8th Grade. JH Girls Basketball Teams will be at Home vs Beckville, starting at 5:00 pm, with the B Team, followed by 7th Grade, then 8th Grade. Tuesday, December 10, 2019: HS Girls Basketball vs Gary at Home, starting at 5:00 pm, with the JV, followed by Varsity. HS Boys Basketball vs Gary, Away, starting at 5:00 pm, with the JV, followed by Varsity. Thursday, December 12- Saturday, December 14, 2019: Varsity Girls and Boys will be in action in the Gary Basketball Tournament, in Gary. Times are to be announced, depending on win/loss and tournament bracket. This tournament is for the Varsity Teams only, for both boys and girls. Go Wildcats!

Attention Big Sandy: Our Elementary and Junior High students have done an outstanding job with District UIL Academic Competition this week! Thank you for allowing your child(ren) to compete in these academic events! Thank you to all of the coaches for their time and effort into helping to get our kids prepared! The Elementary came in as District Runner-up! What an amazing run! We will post a list of individual accomplishments and places as soon as it is finalized! The Junior High is currently in Third Place in the district, awaiting the outcome of the Junior High One-Act Play Results! We are very close with Hawkins ISD Junior High, which is currently in Second Place! We are 23.5 points behind them! The One-Act Play event could change all of that! Again, we are so proud of all of our Elementary and Junior High students for their courage and accomplishments! Go Wildcats!
