LIFT Training

Big Sandy ISD administrators and teachers recently participated in Schoolwide Routines: Criteria for Success training as part of the district's participation in the Leadership and Instructional Foundations for Texas (LIFT) Grant, supported by the Texas Education Agency (TEA).

This professional learning focused on establishing consistent, research-based instructional routines that create engaging, well-managed classrooms where all students can thrive. When teachers across a district use common, effective instructional practices, students benefit from clear expectations, increased engagement, and stronger learning experiences from classroom to classroom.

The training emphasized strategies that help teachers maximize instructional time, increase student participation, provide meaningful feedback, and ensure every student has opportunities to think critically and actively engage in learning. These schoolwide routines also strengthen collaboration among educators, creating a culture of continuous improvement that benefits every student.

Superintendent Rhonda Turner shared her excitement about the district's continued investment in its educators:

"One of the greatest investments we can make is in our teachers. The LIFT Grant is giving our staff the opportunity to learn, grow, and refine practices that have a direct impact on student achievement. I am incredibly excited about the work our team is doing and even more excited about what it means for our students. As we prepare for the new school year, I truly believe we are building something special at Big Sandy ISD. Together, we are creating classrooms where every student has the opportunity to succeed, and I can't wait to see the incredible things our students and staff accomplish this year."

Big Sandy ISD remains committed to providing every student with a high-quality educational experience. Through the support of the LIFT Grant and the Texas Education Agency, our educators are strengthening instructional practices that will lead to greater student engagement, stronger academic achievement, and lasting success.
