Today, our Big Sandy ISD staff enjoyed our annual Community Lunch, a special time to come together as we prepare for another great school year.
A huge thank you to the Big Sandy Chamber of Commerce, Big Sandy Rotary Club, Big Sandy Lions Club, Holly Lake Kiwanis Club, Grace Communion, New Hope Baptist Church, and all the wonderful volunteers who helped make today’s lunch possible.
We are incredibly grateful for a community that continues to show up for our schools and our staff year after year. Your support means so much to our Wildcat family!

Big Sandy ISD officially kicked off the 2026–2027 school year with our annual Staff Convocation!
The day began in the auditorium as Superintendent Rhonda Turner welcomed our staff back, celebrated the incredible people who make Big Sandy ISD special, and shared an exciting vision for the year ahead.
Staff then enjoyed the inspirational film October Sky, a reminder that educators have the unique opportunity to encourage students to dream big, overcome obstacles, and believe in their potential.
Staff also enjoyed lunch together at Paredes in Mineola, providing an opportunity to connect, visit, and celebrate the start of the new school year.
As we return to our classrooms and campuses, we do so with renewed purpose, ready to dream big, inspire bigger, and make a lasting difference for every Wildcat.

New teachers were welcomed by district administrators and introduced to the people, programs, and resources that will support them throughout the school year. A special thank you to City National Bank for sponsoring lunch for our new teachers and administrators. We truly appreciate your continued support of Big Sandy ISD.
