Mrs. Cortinas received her Bachelors in Education from New Mexico State University in Las Cruces, NM where she was a proud member of the NMSU Track & Field Team and threw shot-put, discus, and hammer. She attended Stephen F. Austin University where she received her Masters Degree in Educational Leadership. Currently, she is enrolled at Texas A&M University Texarkana and is working on her doctorate in Educational Leadership. She is the mother of Brennen and Zander who are both sophomores at Big Sandy High School and wife of Nicholas Cortinas. This is her 25th year in education and is proud to be a Wildcat!

Misty Hartman
Mrs. Hartman went to Big Sandy from kindergarten through her senior year up unitl she graduated in 2005. Soon afterward, she married her high school sweetheart, Finn Hartman. She is the mother of Layden, Landen, and Raelyn Hartman. Layden, a 2025 Big Sandy graduate, currently attends TSTC and is enrolled in Lineman School. Landen, a senior, and Raelynn, a sophomore, both attend Big Sandy High School. Before becoming the high school secondary administrative assistant, Mrs. Hartman subbed at Big Sandy for eight years. This is her second year as the administrative assistant at Big Sandy Secondary.
