A Word From Mrs. Turner

Dear Big Sandy ISD Families, Students, and Community,

It is with great excitement and sincere gratitude that I introduce myself as the new Superintendent of Big Sandy ISD. Having had the privilege of serving as Interim Superintendent these past months, I have already witnessed firsthand the spirit of pride, resilience, and commitment that defines this community, and I am honored to continue this work in a permanent capacity.

As we look ahead, I am energized by the opportunities before us. We will set high expectations for teaching, learning, and student success across every campus. Our students deserve nothing less than an environment where they are challenged academically, supported socially and emotionally, and inspired to dream boldly about their futures. To do this, we will remain steadfast in our focus on safety, instructional excellence, and meaningful engagement with families.

I look forward to working closely with our Board of Trustees, staff, parents, and community leaders to build a clear, unified vision for the future of Big Sandy ISD, a vision rooted in opportunity, innovation, and the belief that every child can succeed. The strength of this district has always been its people, and I am committed to fostering open communication, collaboration, and transparency as we move forward together.

A little about my background: I am a career educator with experience as a classroom teacher, campus leader, district administrator, and over ten years of experience as a Superintendent. I have dedicated my life to public education, and I approach this role with both deep respect for our traditions and a strong passion for continuous improvement.

Thank you for welcoming me into this role and for the trust you place in our district each day. I am excited for the journey ahead and confident that together, we can do remarkable things for the children of Big Sandy ISD.
