Greetings from the central administration office.  As we welcome the new 2011 year I encourage you to continue to support our students in all areas of academics and special programs.  This fall was very rewarding for our students on each of our campuses, and a short list of the accomplishments the students earned includes:

 Volleyball - District Champions
 Football - Class 1A Regional Champions
 Elementary UIL – District Runner-Up
                           Junior High – Volleyball District Champions
                           4th Overall UIL Academics
                           UIL Marching Contest – Division 2 Rating
                           Flag Line – Best in Class 

Major construction of the bond project is complete, with the project being UNDER budget.  The Big Sandy ISD School Board has decided to approve some additional work to continue the upgrade to our facilities, including building a restroom facility at the Elementary playground area, new weight equipment in the district field house, and new security cameras on each bus.  Other projects are being planned as well.  

Something new added to each campus office is an area for public use of a computer with internet capabilities.  We encourage anyone needing to access the web or create documents to come to the school and use our systems.  

Once again, I would like to thank the students, staff and parents for working hard to make Big Sandy ISD and all 3 campuses a Texas Education Agency “RECOGNIZED” School District.  We are very fortunate at Big Sandy to have such outstanding students who walk the hallways each day.  It is a privilege for me, as well as for our staff, to educate tomorrow’s leaders.  I challenge each parent, student, staff member and community member to reach out and be active in district activities.  Big Sandy has numerous programs, clubs, and activities for our students; please come out and support, encourage, and cheer for our students’ success.  Once again, thank you for visiting us, and we are excited about the success of this school year.
