US History Homepage

The Texas Essential Knowledge & Skills requires all eighth grade students be educated in the history of the United States from Exploration to Reconstruction.  All students are tested in the 8th grade on this subject matter on the TAKS test.  This is not a course for students to take lightly.  It is important for each student to put forth a maximum effort in learning the content of the course as it is also tested at the high school exit level.

Through this course, students will learn about the cultural, economic, and political history of the United States.  They will need to learn important people, places, and events which occurred in the portion of US History.  Students will discover the rich heritage of our nation through the reading of novels, videos, and activities which will be challenging and rewarding.

This will be a challenging year but with hard work and perseverance goals will be attained.
