Welcome to the K-A Website.  My name is Alice Potter and I have taught kindergarten in Big Sandy for the past 28  years.  What an awesome experience for me to work with the children of this community.  I love working with 5 and 6 year old children.  They are so eager to explore and learn.  This is a very rewarding age  to watch their young minds grow and experience new things.  I have a personal goal to make learning fun for the children of Big Sandy.  I am now fortunate to be teaching my "grand kids", the children of students I taught in previous years. 

I am married to John Potter and have 2 sons that attended Big Sandy Schools.  J. W., my oldest son, graduated from Stephen F. Austin University with a degree in Education.  He is now a helicopter pilot in the Marine Corp.  He and his wife are stationed in Okinawa, Japan. He is married to a wonderful girl, Paige.   She has a Masters degree in Speech Pathology.  My youngest son, Ben, has a  degree in Criminal Justice from Stephen F. Austin University.  He is also in the Marine Corp and has a flight contract that will begin in the Fall of 2006.   Ben is married  to a super girl, Jennifer,  and they are eagerly awaiting their move to Quantico, Virginia.
