Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year!We hope you and your family are enjoying an incredible summer and finding time to spend some quality time together.As we begin this new school year, I want to encourage you to join us again this year for our annual “Meet the Teacher” which is scheduled for Thursday, August 22nd from 4:00-6:00.This will be a wonderful time for parents and students to meet the teachers for the new school year.
A Back to School Bash sponsored by the Love Big Sandy Project and community organizations will be held on Saturday, August 17th from 10:00-12:00 at the elementary school gym.Complimentary haircuts, school supplies, dental supplies, eye exams, face painting, hot dogs, and drinks will be available.Please come join us for this special event.
Additionally, we have several other special events that we would like to share with our parents.Our Pre-Kindergarten and Head Start Roundup is scheduled for Wednesday, August 7th from 9:00-11:00.Students must be four years of age on or before September 1st and meet eligibility requirements in order to be placed in a Pre-Kindergarten/Head Start classroom.Big Sandy Elementary will host our annual “Grandparent’s Breakfast” on Friday, September 6th beginning at 7:30 in the student center.Additionally, our campus will be hosting our annual “Family Night” on September 26th from 5:30-7:00.Not only will parents have the opportunity to visit with teachers and enjoy the hotdog dinner, but parents will receive information regarding your child's educational program for the 2019-2020 school year. You will not want to miss this event!!!
Also, all returning students may pick up their new registration forms at the elementary office any day Monday through Thursday 8:00-3:00.All others will be picked up at “Meet the Teacher”.All campuses are required to have new “proof of residency” forms on file this year along with the documentation.Please remember to stop by the office and provide us with a copy of a current utility bill with your physical address to update your child’s file.
