I hope all is well with everyone this summer!!  Time is moving quickly as we prepare for the upcoming school year.  We are diligently working to get ready for August 25^th.  We have three new faces that will be joining the JH staff for 08-09.  Bobbye McCarty will be teaching 8^th grade math, Larry Minter is coming back to teach 6^th and 7^th grade Social Studies as well as coach, and Natasha Garrett will be teaching  6^th and 7^th grade reading and serve in the CHAMPS lab.  I am looking forward to working with these teachers. 

I am also looking forward to the students coming back.  We graduated a great 8^th grade class, but we are looking forward to a brand new 6^th grade class!!  This past year brought a lot of improvement in academics and discipline.  We cannot rest on the accomplishments of last year.  The new school year brings a new set of priorities and goals.  One goal I have for the JH is to become a recognized campus for 08-09.  We were within 8 percentage points in a couple of areas this past year.  This is a realistic goal that I know our faculty will take seriously.  The faculty and staff will work meticulously in instilling this goal in each student…not just for campus recognition, but mainly for academic achievement for each individual student.  Education is the foundation for success in life.  

A school supply list will be on the website soon.  Registration packets will be ready the July 28th.  Be looking for the official announcement on the website and in the newspaper.  There are a few minor changes to our dress code for 08-09.  Hair length for boys cannot be in the eyes, below the ear lobe, or below the collar in the back.  Also, un-tucked shirt length cannot be below the tips of the fingers.

 I am looking forward to the new school year.  Have a great rest of the summer!!!
