Welcome to the 2016-2017 school year! We hope you and your family have enjoyed an incredible summer and found time to spend some quality time together. As we begin this new school year, I want to encourage you to join us again this year for our annual “Meet the Teacher” which is scheduled for Thursday, August 18th from 4:00-6:00. This will be a wonderful time for parents and students to meet the teachers for the new school year.
A Back to School Bash sponsored by the Love Big Sandy Project and community organizations will be held on Saturday, August 20th from 10:00-2:00 at the elementary school. Complimentary haircuts, school supplies, shoes, hot dogs, drinks, and snow cones will be available. Please come join us for this special event.
Additionally, we have several other special events that we would like to share with our parents. Big Sandy Elementary will host our annual “Grandparent’s Breakfast” on Friday, September 9th beginning at 7:30 in the student center. Additionally, our campus will be hosting our annual “Family Night” on October 13th from 5:30-7:00. Not only will parents have the opportunity to visit with teachers and enjoy the hotdog dinner, but parents will receive information regarding your child's educational program for the 2016-2017 school year. You will not want to miss this event!!!
As always, we appreciate our parents and families for all your help and support and we are excited about the “new year” as we all know that our parents are the best! We appreciate your interest in your child’s education and thank you for your partnership in this journey toward success for ALL children.
Finally, our office is available to serve you and your family regarding any needs that you may have. Please call if you should have questions regarding any facet of your child’s educational program. Also, watch the elementary site for important links that might be helpful in working with your child at home and like us on “FACEBOOK” for all of our latest happenings posted.
Once again, on behalf of our entire staff, I want to thank you for your continued support as we prepare to begin another successful school year.
