Big Sandy Elementary School

Dear Parents,

As impossible as it is to believe, we are completing our first semester of school and are beginning our second semester on January 17^th.  Report cards will once again be distributed on Friday, January 20^th.  We are so excited about this school year and the successes that our children have already experienced and we want to continue to encourage them to work hard toward their goals.

I would like to take this opportunity to share with everyone that Big Sandy Elementary will continue our “extended day program” for grades 3-5 beginning on January 23^rd.  This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to receive extra help and assistance on specific skills.  This is also a great opportunity for students to prepare and review for the new state “STAAR” test that will be administered across the state this spring.

Also, we will be hosting our third awards assembly on January 24^th.  We will begin in the auditorium at 8:15 for grades 1-2 and 9:30 for grades 3-5.  This is always an exciting time to recognize the accomplishments of our students for not only the six weeks, but for the first semester.

Finally, we would like to take this opportunity to thank our parents for helping make this a great first semester and we would like to continue to encourage each of you to join us for up-coming special events at Big Sandy Elementary.
