FFA Officers Attend State Convention

Big Sandy FFA Chapter Officers pictured above recently attended the Texas State FFA Convention in Lubbock Texas. The week was filled with leadership activities and excitement as the new state team was elected into office.
Over 12,000 Texas FFA members attended this year's convention and received over 5 million dollars in scholarships.

Students heard speeches from motivational speakers, and were entertained by several bands and many other exciting activities that the members will bring back to share with their chapters.  This year the Big Sandy FFA received a Silver rating, putting our chapter in the top twenty in the state of Texas. Russ Brown and Travis Faurot walked across stage and received their Lone Star Farmer Degrees - which is the highest degree held in the state. Chapter and Daingerfield District President Olivia Ellis served as a courtesy corps member for the state.
