What's Happening at Big Sandy ISD
High School United Nations
Nineteen Big Sandy students attended the Model United Nations in
Tyler on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 2 and 3. These
students spent 5 months preparing for the competition by writing
resolutions and building maps and collages. The competition
requires the students to give speeches in support of the
resolutions they wrote.
The results of the competition are as follows: 3 of the students won individual awards—John Bruhn, Sydney Chandler, and Chelsea Tellechea. Four trophies were awarded to the following countries: Croatia—2nd Place Map, Australia—2nd Place Collage, Croatia—1st Place General Assembly, Croatia—1st Place Impromptu Resolution Writing.
