Setting Background Color and Image

Step 1 - Set Background Color

Important Note: Typically a website maintains the same background throughout to maintain consistency.

  1. If necessary, reopen page2.htm
  2. Click Format > Background...

    The Page Properties dialog box opens with the Background tab selected.






     

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. In the Colors area of the dialog box, select a background color.
  2. Click OK.
  3. Save the page2.htm file.
     

Step 2 - Preview the Page

  1. Quick preview - click on the Preview tab OR
  2. Browser preview - click the button on the toolbar or File > Preview in Browser ...

 

Step 3 - Set a Background Image

Important Note: Setting a background image will have priority over the background color. If both page properties are set, then only the background image will be visible.

  1. Return to Normal View of page2.htm.
  2. Click Format > Background...

    The Page Properties dialog box opens with the Background tab selected.






     

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

  1. Click the Browse... button.
  2. Navigate to your desktop and open the website folder.
  3. Double-click the backgrnd.jpg file.
  4. Click the OK button to close the Page Properties dialog box.
  5. Save the page2.htm file. 

Step 4 - Preview the Page

  1. Quick preview - click on the Preview tab OR
  2. Browser preview - click the button on the toolbar or File > Preview in Browser ...
