Step 1 - Open Your Web

  1. Click File >New > Page or web....
     
  2. On the right side of the screen Under New click Empty Web
  3. Click OK

     

Note: A Folder List frame will display the contents of your FrontPage web. Your web contains two folders called  _private and images.  The _private folder is a system folder that should not be deleted or modified. The images folder will contain the images of your web or website.

Step 2 - Create a New Page

  1. Click File > New > Page or Web... to open the Task Pane window if it is not visible.
  2. Click Blank Page in the Task Pane window or the button on the toolbar to open a new page.
  3. Type your name on the page.
  4. Hit Enter.
  5. Insert a Horizontal Line by clicking Insert > Horizontal Line
  6. Hit Enter.
  7. Type the following: Home | Sample Page 2 | Syllabus
  8. Hit Enter
  9. Type your school location information
  10. Right-click in a blank area of the page and select Page Properties from the popup menu
  11. Give your page a title.
  12. Click OK.
  13. Save the file as default.htm

Important Notes:

  • Changes can only be made from Normal View.
  • The first or main web page of your website must be named "default.htm" without the quotes.
  • An asterisk, displayed after a web page name, signifies unsaved changes to the page that are not visible from the web. Click the save button to remove the asterisk and make the changes visible.

Step 3 - Preview the Page

  1. Quick preview - click on the Preview tab OR
  2. Browser preview - click the button on the toolbar or go to File > Preview in Browser ...

Step 4 - View the Code

  1. From FrontPage 2002, click on the HTML tab
